Invertible
Launching soon

See what's being rebuilt.

Invertible tracks reverse-engineering and reimplementation projects, many built with AI, and maps them to the software features people want replaced. Vote for what should be rebuilt next.

How it works

01

Discover

Reverse-engineering and reimplementation projects in one place, with their sources and an honest status: what works, what doesn't yet.

02

Map

Each piece of software gets a feature map: which features already have independent reimplementations, and which ones nobody has built yet.

03

Vote

Upvote projects and request the features you want rebuilt. The most-wanted list shows builders where the demand is.

The feature map

For every piece of software, see feature by feature what already exists as an independent reimplementation — and what people are still asking for.

Our principles

Honest status

A reimplemented module is not a finished app. Pages say exactly what was rebuilt and how it was checked.

AI details are optional

Many authors use AI. Sharing models, tokens or time is welcome but never required — unknown stays unknown, never zero.

Clean sources only

No leaked code, no cracks, no pirated binaries. We favour clean-room and interoperable reimplementations and act on rights-holder reports.

FAQ

What is Invertible?

A directory of reverse-engineering and reimplementation projects, many of them built with AI, organised by the software and features they replace. You can vote for projects and request the features you want rebuilt.

Is it free?

Yes. Browsing, voting and submitting projects will be free.

Is reverse engineering legal?

It depends on how it's done. Studying how software behaves and building an independent implementation is generally allowed in the EU; copying code, using leaked source or bypassing copy protection is not. We only list projects with clear sources, don't host binaries, and remove content when rights holders report a valid problem.

Can I list my project?

Yes — submissions open at launch. Join the waitlist and we'll let you know. Project authors will be able to claim and edit their pages.

Do I have to share which AI models I used?

No. Model, tokens, time and cost are optional fields. A link to your project is enough.
